Location

La Case du Pêcheur is located in the south East of Mauritius, at Bambous Virieux, about 20 minutes from the airport.

This area is historically interesting, and also hosts some beautiful nature-sites like Ile aux Cerfs Island, the waterfalls of Grand River South East, and Ferney Valley.

The old capital of Mauritius, Mahebourg, who was named after first French governor Mahe de Labourdonnais, is situated further down south. Do not miss the Monday-market, which turns Mahebourg into a bustling hotspot! Fredrik Hendrik Museum, located on the way to Mahebourg, is the place to find out more about the Dutch period of Mauritius.

Those eager for sweets might want to have a guided tour accompanied by ample tasting at Raoult Manioc Biscuit Factory in Ville Noire, whereas others might be more attracted to go for a nature-walk on the green slopes of Ferney Valley.
